PST™ A Non-Invasive Gum Recession Treatment
Gum surgery sounds daunting but gum recession and exposed dental roots are something that need to be addressed to help with gum health as well as retention of your natural teeth, not to mention the appearance of your smile.
At Integrative Dental Arts, our dentist have been trained and accredited to perform the cutting edge Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique. This technique is getting global recognition for its efficacy as well as the fact that it’s a non-invasive alternative to a traditional gum graft.
Los Angeles Gum Recession Treatment without Incisions, without Sutures
The PST™ (Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique) procedure involves a tiny pinhole entry point in your gums and special tools that are designed to gently loosen gum tissue and enable expansion so that your existing gums can cover the exposed root. This differs greatly from typical gum grafting, which involves a scalpel and sutures for removal and adherence of gum tissue from your palate that has to be grafted onto your gums and sewn together.
Benefits of pinhole gum surgery include:
- Less discomfort for the patient during and after the procedure,
- Faster healing, faster results,
- And results that are long-lasting as well as comparable to traditional gum graft surgery.
Our office has many before and after photos of pinhole gum surgery to show you the dramatic improvements garnered from this technique.

Dr. Chao has been featured on television shows, such as The Doctors, where this procedure was touted as a Lunchtime Gumlift™.
